A Nigerian man has voiced his heartbreak on social media after his wife appeared in an interview with popular content creator Egungun, where she claimed to be single—despite being married to him since 2022 and sharing a four-year-old daughter.

The incident was brought to light on X (formerly Twitter) by user @ChuksEricE, who shared a video from the interview.

In the clip, the woman confidently declared that she is single, adding that although she has always been in relationships, she’s currently just “chilling.”

She added, “I’m 22. I need a kind man, generous and fine.”

After the video went viral, the woman’s husband came forward to set the record straight.

He posted a message online confirming that the woman in the interview is his wife and that they have been married since 2022.

He also revealed that their marriage produced a daughter, and despite the situation, her family has refused to return his bride price.

He wrote: “Three days ago, I was just receiving messages from my friends all over, telling me they saw my wife on Egungun’s page, where she said she is a nurse and single. Meanwhile, we have been married since 2022, and she has a 4-year-old daughter for me.”

“I live in Asaba and she is living in Lagos. Her parents have refused to return my dowry, and this has been eating me up. I have all the evidence you need.”

As of the time of this report, the woman is yet to publicly address the allegations.

Meanwhile, the viral post has sparked widespread reactions, with many social media users flooding the comment section with mixed feelings and diverse opinions.
