Top 5 Nigerian Female Celebrities Accused Of Bleaching Their Skin After Fame (Photos)

The topic of skin bleaching has been a very controversial one among people of color. There have been arguments that skin bleaching only becomes necessary for individuals who are not appreciative of their natural color and who are insecure about how they look. However, another school of thought has also argued that people should be able to do what makes them feel and look better.

Well, regardless of the argument against and in support of skin bleaching, it appears it is a trend that isn’t going anywhere, particularly among dark people who often have an eye for appearing light-skinned.

Interestingly, amidst the raging argument against bleaching, a new term has been coined for it. Nowadays, one would almost appear archaic to mouth such words as skin bleaching, as opposed to the more refined term: Skin Toning.

Although, in cosmetology, skin toning simply refers to the use of toners to cleanse the skin and shrink the appearance of pores, blackheads, etc

What many practices are skin lightening/whitening, which is the use of harsh chemicals to change one’s skin color.

Today, we take a look at some popular Nigerian celebrities that have been known to be dark-skinned before dramatically becoming fair. Perhaps, these individuals felt the need because of the rumors that have often been peddled about light-skinned individuals having a better chance at success than dark ones, especially in the entertainment industry.

Recall that some months ago a popular trend rocked the social media which was tagged the ten years challenge. The movement entertained people making a photo collage of what they look like in present and what they looked like ten years ago.

Many people jumped on the trend seeing as it showcased the obvious growth that has taken place in their lives and celebrities were not left out.

Several Nigerian entertainers who participated in the movement impressed some of their fans while others were left shocked at the obvious difference in their appearance.

Some fans even speculated that some stars had used creams to lighten their skin tone while others argued that the quality of the camera, as well as the presence of light, is probably responsible for their lighter shade in the photos.
