How time flies!
Looking through old pictures is always just such a huge reminder and wakeup call of how fast time goes. To think, not too long ago, all the women on today’s list were just entering secondary school for the first time unsure of what the future would hold.
Now these women are one of Nigeria’s top leading actresses today. In the past, I did a post titled 13 Adorable Throwback Pictures of Nollywood’s Older Actresses and you guys really seemed to like that post.
So, I thought to myself: why not do something for the newer actresses. I mean, these are the new age of women gracing our screens and even though a lot of these women are still very young, in their 20s, 30s – it doesn’t mean we still can’t throw it back for them as well.
1. Nancy Isime
Beautiful and talented actress Nancy Isime is one woman that has definitely paid her dues in this industry. Working her way up from being a media presenter, the very talented Nancy can now be seen gracing both our small screens in television shows like Jenifa’s Diary where she starred for a bit and on the big screens in movies like Kambili which she led.
Taking to Instagram, Nancy posted a throwback picture of herself with the caption: Bruh! I came out of the womb ready to punch anybody wey wan try me. We couldn’t agree more!
2. Adesua Etomi
Nollywood actress and recent mother Adesua Etomi is by far one of the most prolific newer actresses in Nollywood today. Gracing and starring as the lead in a host of Nollywood blockbusters including The Wedding Party and Sugar Rush, the actress is undisputed in the industry.

3. Beverly Naya
Beverly Naya is a British-born Nigerian actress who is also incredibly wildly popular, most recently for her award-winning documentary, Skin.

4. Ijeoma Grace Agu
Ijeoma Grace Agu is a Nigerian actress who received a best supporting actress nomination at the 12th Africa Movie Academy Awards. She’s starred in hit movies like Taxi Driver and countless other movies on ROK.

Bimbo Ademoye is one lady who is becoming more and more of a household name day by day. The actress in her short time in the industry has acted in well over 70+ movies and counting.

Namaste Wahala actress Ini Dima-Okojie is another actress who is on the rise. The versatile actress has been doing a good job of securing really good projects for herself and is slowly but surely making her name known around the country.

7. Jemima Osunde
Jemima Osunde broke unto the scene via MTV’s Shuga and has kept a steady momentum going since. She starred in the very successful movie New Money and is definitely an actress to watch.

8. Toni Tones
King of Boys actress Toni Tones is yet another actress who although has been in the industry for a while is just now getting her name really out there. Her powerhouse performance in King of Boys really put her on the map and the actress is doing amazing things for herself.

Another actress who started off as a presenter and has worked her way to the top is actress Zainab Balogun who acted in EbonyLife’s Royal Hibsicus Hotel.

10. Sharon Ooja
Sharon Ooja gained prominence playing the character of Shalewa in the Ndani TV series, Skinny Girl in Transit.
Following the success of that TV series, and her acting skills, she has since gone on to feature in a number of high profile movies such as King of Boys, The Bling Lagosians, and Moms at War.

11. Toke Makinwa
Nigerian OAP and new actress in the Nollywood scene, Toke Makinwa is one woman who has definitely made a name for herself in Nigeria.
She has really hustled and worked hard to get where she is today and the difference from her throwback pictures to today is incredible!
12. Kehinde Bankole
Kehinde Bankole is another actress who is now making her name known in the industry. Her performance in The Setup was widely praised and she’s gone on to star in more amazing projects.

13. Bisola Aiyeola
Big Brother contestant and Nollywood actress Bisola Aiyeola is one of the most beloved women in the industry and for good reason. The actress is funny, smart, and has starred in some very successful Nollywood movies most recently Sugar Rush.
