See How Nollywood Actresses Have Changed Since the Beginning of Their Career (Photos)

Just like any of us, over time, Nollywood actresses have to cope with changes in their appearance. But, on top of that, in their films we can also clearly see how they have perfected their acting skills and how their careers have evolved to become the stars they are today.

Today I made a compilation of Nollywood actress in their first movies and their most recent photos to show you that they all started from somewhere. Take a look below at where they began and how they look like right now!

1. Ini Edo

Ini Edo made her film debut in 2003 in movie titled 'Thick Madam'. Since then she has gone on to appear in over 150 movies. Looking at her past and present pictures, we can see she looks much younger and beautiful.

2. Mercy Johnson

Who doesn't love Mercy Johnson? She's one actresss who can adopt to any role. Do you want tears? Mercy Johnson will give you a river. Do you want comedy? Mercy Johnson will make you laugh and pee. Do you want a bad girl? Mercy Johnson can do it too. She's a complete package.

Mercy Johnson's first movie was 'The Maid,' a role she auditioned for shortly after her secondary school in 2004. Mercy Johnson journey to stardom in Nollywood is one that will give you hope. She once lived in poverty and was homeless but today she's arguably the richest and influential acteeses in Africa.

3. Mercy Aigbe

Mercy Aigbe made her acting debut in 2006, in a movie titled Ara. Her outstanding role in the movie got the attention of top producers and since then she became an household name in Nigeria. One noticeable thing about Mercy Aigbe's past and present photos is her skin. What a transformation!

4. Funke Akindele

Funke Akindele Journey to stardom began when she played the role of a intelligent but curious secondary school student in a TV series, 'I Need to Know' which aired from 1998 -2002. Funke Akindele is loved all over Africa for her down to earth nature.

Take a look at her recent picture and you will agree with me that no matter how rich she might be, her 'ajekpako' character will always stick to her.

5. Patience Ozokwor

Patience Ozokwor ake Mama G is one actress that will be remembered for her wicked roles in movies. Patience Ozokwor first movie was released in 1998.

In 199, she did her second movie titled “Authority”. Her second movie propelled her to the limelight and made her the legend that we all admire today

6. Destiny Etiko

If Patience Ozokwor is old skool, Destiny Etiko is the new skool. Destiny Etiko is one the most talked about actress in Nigeria. Why? Because of her talent and curvy body.

Destiny Etiko starred as a child actor but was barely known then. She captured the hearts of Nigerians in 2012 in the movie 'Idemili'

7. Genevieve Nnaji

Some call Genevieve the G.O.A.T of Nollywood but others think Omotola should be called the Greatest of All time.

In 1998, at the age of 19, Genevieve made her debut in Nollywood with the movie "Most Wanted.". In 2019, she became Nollywood's first billionaire when Netflix bought her movie, 'Lion Heart' for $3 million.

8. Omotola Jalade Ekeinde

Omotola got her fist major role in 1995 in a movie titled 'Mortal Inheritance'. In the movie, Omotola played the role of sickle-cell patient who battle to stayed alive. Omotola's character overcame the disease and she had a baby. Omotola is regarded by many as the best actresses Nigeria has ever produced.
