6 Nollywood Actors & Actresses Who Was Once Into Music Before (Photos)

1. Tonto Dikeh

Tonto Dikeh's transition from film to music was not only less successful than she had hoped, but she was also heavily criticized. She was fortunate enough to be signed to D'banj's record label, DB Records, and released a few singles as a result. The most popular are 'Itz Ova' and 'High.'

She didn't stay long in the label because there were rumors that she was allegedly kicked off, though D'banj denied the rumors.

2. John Okafor (Mr Ibu)

John Okafor ventured in music in the early 2000s. His debut album, 'This Girl,' contained hit songs that quickly became anthems, especially among Nollywood fans. Two of the album's most popular songs are 'This Girl' and 'Annoyed.'

3- Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde

Ekeinde's claim to musical fame dates back to 2005, shortly after her Nollywood ban was lifted. The actress's first single, 'Gba,' was met with harsh criticism, but this did not deter her from releasing her 'Me, Myself, and Eyes' album in 2010.

While the 12-track album was not an overnight success, it did serve as proof that Omotola's love of music was genuine and not merely a hobby, as had previously been suggested.

The actress announced nearly a week ago that she would be returning to music, stronger than ever.

4- Nkem Owoh

With the release of his humorous song "I Go Chop Your Dollar," this comedic actor, better known by his stage name Osuofia, has also ventured in music. Audio and video were not permitted due to the lyrical content.

5- Jim Iyke

Mr Iyke appears to belong in the music industry, with his bad-boy persona and blingy jewelry, but appearances can be deceiving; he began in movies and then tried music, but with little success.

In 2009, he released some songs and was fortunate to feature one of the music industry's biggest names, TuFace Idibia, on "Who Am I."

6- Charles Okocha

In 2011, Nollywood actor Charles Okocha, better known by his stage name Igwe 2pac, debuted in the music industry. However, in 2016, he released the highly anticipated single Amoshine. In addition, he boosted his musical career with another single.
