No doubt the Nollywood industry has evolved in every aspect over the years, from the production to finishing touches. Technology has also helped the industry to advance with the growing demands of viewers.
They are some veterans who have been in the industry for years, they may be described as the founding fathers of the industry. They have been there when the Industry was not as popular and lucrative as it is today. For me, they were the ones who laid the path for others to follow. This article will focus on some Nollywood veterans who (have) spent over three decades in the industry.
1. Pete Edochie
Pete Edochie is one of the Nollywood actors that have been in the game for over 30 years. The Actor became popular after he played the role of Okonkwo in the famous movie "Things fall apart" which was shot in the 70s. Since then, the actor has won many recognitions from both home and abroad. He's popularly known for playing the roles of Kings, Elder and sometimes Native Doctors.
2. Joke Silva
Nollywood Veteran, Joke Silva has been in the industry for over three decades now. According to Wikipedia, the movie "Mind-bending", was one of the first major movies that the beautiful actress acted in, and it was shot in 1990. Apart from English movies, Joke Silva has also featured in some Yoruba movies. And she even acted in a British-Canadian film.
The 60-year-old actress who is also married to Another Nollywood actor has won some awards and recognition, both home and abroad.
3. Nkem Owoh.
Famously known for his comical roles in movies, Actor Nkem Owoh has been in the game for over 30 years now. He was also among the cast of the 1971 movie, "Things Fall Apart". Nkem Owoh who is also known as Ukwa or Osuofia is one of the actors that has cracked a lot of ribs with the kinds of movies that he acts in.
4. Olu Jacobs

According to Wikipedia, the actor began acting professionally in the 70s and has spent over 40years in the industry. He's one of the actors who has featured in both local and foreign movies. In his career as an actor, Olu Jacobs has won some awards and recognition, both home and abroad.
Recently, the actor has not been partaking in new movies, and this may be as a result of his health condition.
5. Jide Kosoko
Born into the Royal film, Prince Jide Kosoko is among the Nollywood stars who came into the industry at a very tender age. According to Wikipedia, the Nollywood veteran started acting in the year 1964, when he was 10 years old. And since then, the actor has featured in many movies, including Yoruba, English and TV series.
These veterans have done a lot in the industry and are among those who have lifted the Nollywood industry globally. Kudos to them, and all others.
