1. Regina Askia Williams
Regina Askia was one of the reigning Nollywood actresses in the 90s. She started her modelling in her University days and was crowned Miss Unilag in 1988. She went ahead to contest in the Miss Nigeria competition in 1989 and was crowned the “Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria.” Regina made history by becoming the first Nigerian at Miss International in Japan, and she was acknowledged as a contestant with the best traditional costume.
However, she moved into Nollywood and her first debut movie was “Most Wanted” in the year 1995, where she played the role of a notorious robber.
2. Stephanie Okereke Linus
Stephanie is another actress who was once a model in Nigeria before becoming a Nollywood star. She was also the third runner-up for the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria beauty pageant in the year 2002. She received numerous awards when she started her acting career the following year.
3. Nancy Isime
She is another model before becoming a Nollywood actress. Apart from modelling and acting, she is also a media personality. In 2009, Nancy Isime won the “Miss Valentine International” beauty pageant and finished second in the Miss Telecoms Nigeria beauty contest. However, she began a career as an actress in the TV series titled “Echoes” in 2011.
