On the 19th of July, 2021, The popular Nigerian female singer, Tiwa Savage announced the death of her dear father, Prince Olanrewaju Savage, on her official Instagram page. Tiwa Savage's father was born in 1940 and died in 2021, at the age of 81.
2. Toyin Lawani
The popular Nigerian fashion designer, interior decorator, and stylist, Toyin Lawani, popularly known as “Tiannah” lost her father, Alhaji Olanrewaju Shewu Lawani in April 2021. May Almighty Allah forget him and grant him Aljanah Firdaos (Greatest paradise).
3. Adebayo Salami
The veteran Yoruba actor, film producer, and film director, Adebayo Salami, popularly known as ‘Oga Bello’ lost his dear mother, Alhaja Aishat Ayoka AbdulKareem in August 2021, in Ilorin, Kwara State. His mother was buried on the same day she died, according to Islamic ways of burial.
4. Tayo Odueke
Tayo Odueke, popularly known as Sikiratu Sindodo is a popular Yoruba actress. She lost her mother in September 2021, she took to her official Instagram page to announce the death of her mother. May her soul rest in peace.
5. Mary Lazarus
The Nollywood award-winning actress and movie producer, Mary Lazarus also lost her mother on the 27th of July 2021. She announced the death of her mother using her official Instagram page
6. Shan George
The famous Nollywood actress, producer, singer, model, television personality, and philanthropist, Shan George lost her mother on the 1st of July 2021. Her mother died at the age of 84
7. Nkechi Sunday Blessing
Nollywood actress, Nkechi Sunday Blessings also lost her dear mother, Mrs. Gloria Obasi Sunday on the 23rd of September 2021, while announcing the death of her mother, she described her as her prayer warrior, her role model, and mentor.
8. Maryam Booth
The popular Kannywood actress, Maryam Booth lost her Mother, who was a veteran Kannywood actress. Maryam's mother died on 1st July 2021, after a brief illness. Zainab was popular for the motherly roles she plays in the Hausa movie
9. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
The Award-winning Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie lost her beloved mother in the first quarter of the year. Her mother, Mrs. Grace Ifeoma Adichie died on 1st March 2021.
