Some Nigerian celebrities were opportune to be born into rich and influential families but they still went ahead to make a name for themselves.

1. Davido

David Adeleke popularly known by his stage name as Davido or Omo Baba Olowo (OBO) is a popular Nigerian singer, songwriter and recording artist. He is the son of renowned Nigerian business mogul and billionaire, Adedeji Adeleke. He has gone on to become one of the biggest artistes in Nigeria even though his father initially frowned at him for abandoning school to become an entertainer. Davido was born in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States of America and relocated to Lagos at a young age. His debut album Omo Baba Olowo was released in 2012.

Davido has released several hit single which has won him several awards like Headies Award, MTV Video Music Award, Nigeria Entertainment Award, BET Awards and many others. Davido is a sensational Nigerian singer and song writer who is one of those young Nigerian artists that has swept the Nigerian entertainment scene with his outstanding hit songs. His father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke is the chairman of Keplo-Pacific Energy, a company which is into banking, steel, power and energy. Davido’s father is also the founder and pro-chancellor of Adeleke University, Ede in Osun State, Nigeria. Davido’s uncle, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, is a former Governor of Osun State.

2. B-Red

Adebayo Adeleke popularly known by his stage name as B-Red is popular Nigerian singer, songwriter and recording artist. He is the son of Nigerian politician, Ademola Adeleke, who recently contested for the Osun State governorship election. B-Red is also the cousin brother to Nigerian top singer, Davido. B-Red was born in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States of America and relocated to Lagos, Nigeria to pursue his music career. He started his musical career in 2013 with the release of “Insane Girl” featuring Davido and which was produced by Shizzi.

His uncle, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, is a former Governor of Osun State. While his uncle Adedeji Adeleke (Davido’s father) is the chairman of Keplo-Pacific Energy, a company which is into banking, steel, power and energy.

3. DJ Cuppy

Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola popularly known by her stage name as DJ Cuppy is a Nigerian female disc jockey, singer, songwriter and recording artiste. She is the daughter of Nigerian billionaire and business mogul Femi Otedola. Her father Femi Otedola is the chairman of Forte Oil. He is also the Nigerian President and CEO of Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited. Despite her father’s wealth, she is gradually making a name for herself in the entertainment industry as a DJ and musician.

He is the son of Kema Chikwe, a former Nigerian Federal Minister of Aviation and currently the Nigerian Ambassador to Ireland. Naeto C might have taken a back seat in the entertainment industry but he is responsible for hit songs like 5 and 6, 10 over 10, and many more. Damilola Afolabi popularly known by his stage name as L.A.X is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and a recording artist. He is the son of Nigerian billionaire and industrialist, Taiwo Afolabi, who is the founder of SIFAX Group, a company that deals in oil and gas. L.A.X was formerly signed on to Wizkid’s label, Star Boy entertainment in 2013. L.A.X was born on 10th April 1993 in Lagos, Nigeria. He started out as a rapper and was part of a three-man group called Flyboiz while he was still in high school.
