In recent times cosmetic surgery has become a trend for women who are not comfortable in their natural bodies. This is common with women in the entertainment industry as we have seen most of them open up about going under the knife to get their desired shape.
Without much ado, let's take a look at the Nigerian celebrities who opened up about their cosmetic surgery.
1) Tonto Dikeh
The controversial Nollywood actress is known for being vocal and open with her views. In a viral video that trended online at the time, Tonto revealed that she went under the knife to get her desired shape.
After undergoing her surgery to get tiny hips, the mother of one never ceased to talk about her new shape as she kept sharing throwback photos of her tiny hips, heaping praises on her doctor for doing a perfect job. In some of her posts, she went further to call out trolls who said she looked better in her natural body than the worked hips.
In one of her posts she wrote, “Lipo is simply taking fat from one part of your body to another part most lacking. You eat every day so fat gonna grow back sister. I have had 2 Lipo surgeries and waiting on my third.”
2) Toke Makinwa
The 36-year-old media personality is another Nigerian celebrity who is vocal about undergoing cosmetic surgery. In a question and answer session in an episode on her show on YouTube, Toke opened up about going under the knife and having a hip filler. She also maintained that she didn't regret undergoing surgery.
3) Yvonne Jegede
The Nollywood actress once revealed that she worked on her body after giving birth to her son which made her look curvy. According to the mother of one, she did cosmetic surgery in Nigeria and has the right to do whatever she likes with her life and body. She made the revelation in an Instagram Live interview at the time. In her words:
“Yes, I did surgery (liposuction) on my stomach after I had my son; so, that made me look curvier. I had the surgery here in Nigeria. I don’t have issues with anyone on earth; I do whatever I want with myself and my body.
4) Karen Igho
The 2011 winner of Big Brother Africa, Karen revealed some years back that she worked on her bu*ts to make it bigger. The reality TV star stated that she spent over N1 million for the surgery, noting that she makes good money from it. Karen who also revealed that she went through the procedure at the age of 23 is currently married and with a child.
